Launch of Sneak Peek & Press Release, 11 April 2023

There’s no dream you cannot dream; we want to empower girls and young women to dream big.

Singapore must ensure a broader and more open meritocracy that works well for all Singaporeans, said President Halimah Yacob as she opened the second session of parliament earlier this week. This means there’s a need to expand opportunities throughout life for every citizen, regardless of their starting point.

It’s a sentiment that resonates with us at SHE. With the launch of our signature Sneak Peek Programme, in collaboration with the programme’s main sponsor and presenting partner Standard Chartered Bank, 250 underprivileged girls aged 15-21 will have the opportunity to gain exposure and cultural capital beyond their immediate environment, through half-day placements hosted by various organisations in Singapore.

The launch event also featured an inspiring fireside chat. We’d like to thank our panelists — SMS Sim Ann, Patrick Lee, Cluster CEO for Singapore and ASEAN markets at Standard Chartered, and Georgette Tan Adamopoulos, President of United Women Singapore, Board Member of Singapore Council Of Women's Organisations and SHE — for the heartfelt and genuine conversation.

Stay tuned for more updates about Sneak Peek.
