United Nations, 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, 6 to 17 March 2023

In order to enact meaningful change for gender equity, we need to take a partnership based approach that allows various stakeholders to co-operate in a “whole of society” effort.

With this in mind, our CEO Simran Toor was privileged to attend the United Nations’ largest annual gathering on genderequality – the 67th Commission on the Status of Women - alongside Minister of State Sun Xueling, and representatives from Ministry of Social and Family Development, Singapore (MSF), Persatuan Pemudi Islam Singapura (PPIS), and Singapore Council Of Women's Organisations.

The event served as a platform to meet with representatives and entities of the UnitedNations, as well as NGOs from all over the world, and address priority issues relating to gender equality and equity, including current challenges such as:

1. Healthcare access for survivors of abuse;
2. Equal participation in leadership and politics; and
3. Combating the digital exclusion of girls and women.It was truly exciting to witness the collaboration of people and organisations to challenge gender stereotypes and attain gender equality.

SHE is committed to continuing this effort by working together with the community and stakeholders.

Together, we can make positive change.
